Advantx SFX*
Radiographic and Fluoroscopic Systems
For decades, GE
R&F systems have been setting the industry's standards in all key facets of system
performance:
- Consistently excellent image quality.
- Productivity -enhancing operational ease.
- Long-term reliability and easy serviceability.
- And, since the introduction of Advantx digital control, open-ended upgradeability to
keep you at the forefront of R&F technology, supporting the Advantx continuum.
Superb Image Quality
From image intensifier to TV camera, Advantx R&F systems employ precisely the same
imaging chain as our premium vascular systems.* And that's just the beginning of the image
quality equation.
- Patented Extended Dynamic Range circuitry minimizes saturation and blooming.
- Automatic Gain Control promotes excellent TV presentations even with large patients.
- High-efficiency collimator, automatic secondary masking and advanced grid technology
minimize scatter.
- Microprocessor-controlled, vibration-free cassette transfer results in sharper,
motion-free spotfilms,
- Full kW loading while maintaining optimal focal spot size means better penetration
through thicker anatomy.
- Small focal spots improve spatial resolution.
Consistency you can count on
Advantx digital electronics help ensure that you'll achieve these results
consistently, and automatically, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
- Real-time self-monitoring and calibration preserve optimum parameters.
- Automatic Brightness Control helps maintain brightness over varying densities.
- AutoProtocol lets you apply identical technique parameters to similar clinical
challenges quickly and efficiently.

Reliability
and Upgradeability to Protect Your Investment
When you choose an Advantx R&F system, you're choosing the equipment designed to
give you an excellent return on your investment.
Maximum uptime
Today's Advantx R&F systems build on the GE foundation of R&F dependability,
adding the inherent integrity of digital electronics to an architecture and service
strategy designed for maximum uptime.
- Power-up diagnostic software automatically checks all subsystems and reports problems
before you begin imaging.
- On-line error/solution messages speed resolution of operator-correctable problems in
real time.
- Diagnostic software logs errors and software-based calibrations minimize installation-
and service-related downtime.
- Exclusive InSite remote diagnostics is capable of solving many problems within
minutes, over the phone.
- Every system is backed by one of medical imaging's largest and best-trained imaging
service forces, accessible via a toll-free call.
Open-ended upgradeability
Advantx architecture means that your GE R&F system can keep growing as your
clinical requirements evolve. Because nearly all capabilities are software-driven, adding
new ones can simply be a matter of plugging in a new component or floppy disk ... the
Advantx continuum.
And we're already investing in further enhancements, which can be easily and
cost-effectively incorporated into existing Advantx R&F systems.
- The DRS digital imaging module, promising to provide high-performance subtraction and
roadmap capability.
- InSite remote diagnostics, providing console emulation for even speedier servicing and
for helping new technologists take full advantage of your system.

Designed for
High-Productivity Environments
High productivity is inherent in the design of every Advantx R&F system.
Streamlined setup
Procedural setup is just about as fast and easy as it could be.
- Imaging parameters are prescribed at the touch of a few soft keys on the control
console's plasma screen.
- AutoProtocol feature -standard on most Advantx R&F systems-allows quick and
efficient selection of exam parameters.
Simple, fast exams
Exams are equally easy to perform with Advantx R&Fsystems.
- 12-inch LFOV image intensifier with four field sizes offers excellent patient coverage.
- 73.5-inch longitudinal fluoro coverage provides complete cervical and esophageal
coverage on patients as tall as 6'8".
- Cassettes may be loaded and unloaded single-handedly from any Advantx R&F spotfilm
device.
- Proportional power assist on the spotfilm device makes fast panning extremely smooth and
easy to perform.
- Optional stepping tabletop and puck film changer streamline peripheral angiographic
studies.
