GEMnet
Cardiac review, archival and networking
GEMnet is a fully DICOM compliant digital archive and information management system,
intended as a total cine replacement available as Single lab DCR 500 and Multi-lab DCR
2000. It was designed with two primary goals in mind - lowering long term operating costs,
and improving customer productivity. By eliminating the costs associated with film,
processing chemicals, and manpower, it meets the economic goals and by providing a totally
hands-free background image archiving, with cath lab image quality workstation review, the
departmental efficiency may improve as well.
Because each and every customer's needs are different however, based on volume,
staffing and work styles, the design criteria for GEMnet, paid particular attention to
ensuring that it was
- Practical
- Scaleable
- Reliable
- Upgradeable
Consequently, GEMnet not only utilizes off the shelf components with a strict adherence
to standards, while being fully integrated into GE Medical Systems unmatched InSite remote
diagnostic service, but the system is fully configurable.
DCR 500
The DCR 500 is a single lab with a point to point ATM connection to a single review
station. As each sequence is acquired, it is automatically background transferred to the
review station, providing the entire case's images for immediate digital review. CD-ROM
acts as the permanent archive media.
DCR 2000
The DCR 2000 is a multi-lab, multi-review network with local, intermediate, and long term
storage of all digital image data. With an archive manager to handle all data traffic
without delay, multiple labs and review stations can be networked together, for medium to
high volume Cardiovascular lab settings.
