IMPACT.wf Paging System General Information
Alarm-triggered paging, with ECG waveform displays
The IMPACT.wf*, Informing Mobile Personnel And Care Tracking Waveform Paging System,
delivers the ECG waveforms of alarming patients to caregivers anywhere in the covered area
of this paging system. Timed patient updates can also be directed to caregivers' pagers.
The system acquires data from monitors or telemetry devices on Marquette's Unity
Network® and presents the information on the high-resolution display of the
IMPACT.wf pager which is worn by the patients' caregiver.
When a patient alarm or scheduled update occurs, the IMPACT.wf Paging System alerts the
caregiver and presents a sequence of displays.
Initially, a text screen appears showing the patient name, bed number, alarm message,
and appropriate vital signs. The next two displays, accessed by pressing a button, show a
six-second snapshot of the ECG waveform. Past events can also be reviewed on the pager at
any time.
All this information is delivered to the caregiver typically within ten seconds of the
alarming event.
The system's administration program, which operates on a Unity Network®
file server, matches patients to caregivers and schedules ECG updates. Waveform events
virtually at your fingertips. One less step in responding to alarms. One step closer to
immediate care. |
