MACŪ 6 Resting ECG Analysis System General Information

Battery Operated

The MAC 6 was designed with a goal in mind: to minimize the time between a diagnostic need and a finished ECG.

That's the reason the MAC 6 can be operated off internal batteries. We've eliminated the need to search for an electrical outlet in the emergency room or intensive care unit, where time is of the essence. For routine use, you can plug the MAC 6 in if you prefer. It operates equally well on the rechargeable NiCad batteries or from a 115/230V outlet.

Quality information with Direct Digital Writer

In making MAC 6 extremely easy to use, we haven't compromised on its capability as a sophisticated cardiac diagnostic tool.

With its eight-inch Direct Digital Writer, MAC 6 can print up to six individual channels. Except for the paper drive, this writer has no moving parts. With no ink to run out, no pens to burn out, nothing to go out of adjustment, it gives extremely reliable performance-and distortion-free waveforms.

MAC 6 records and analyzes resting ECGs with accuracy, efficiency and reliability.

At the same time, portability and ease of use make MAC 6 capable of advanced performance anywhere it is needed.

The MAC 6 is a powerful, computerized electrocardiograph. With a MAC 6 you can easily handle a heavy workload of resting ECGs. In just 15 seconds, the MAC 6 acquires signals from 12 leads simultaneously and analyzes them with Marquette's proven 12SL™ ECG analysis program. MAC 6 also offers networking capabilities allowing you to transmit or receive ECGs from other Marquette ECG equipment using standard telephone lines. This important feature allows you to expand the services you offer and to quickly send ECGs to another location. And it's battery operated. You can use it anywhere, even when no electrical outlet is available.

Ease of operation

Using MAC 6 is as easy as connecting the electrodes and pressing one button. This extra-ordinary electrocardiograph does the rest. With the touch of that single button, MAC 6:

Collects 10 seconds of ECG data from all 12 standard leads

Performs a full analysis of rhythm and morphology using Marquette's respected 12SL analysis program

Prints a report in the format of your choice. The report includes:

Heart rate

PR interval

QRS duration

P-R-T axis measurement

QT and corrected QT

In addition, the MAC 6 stores up to 50 ECGs in its solid state memory.

Digital Data Acquisition

The signal quality you see in an ECG is in large part a product of the quality of the ECG signal acquired. MAC 6 utilizes an active, external signal acquisition and digitization module to virtually eliminate non-cardiac electrical noise. Additionally, the new acquisition module utilizes a Marquette exclusive new INTER-LEAD™ cable design with gold plated contacts.

Reliable Analysis

It takes only 15 seconds for MAC 6 to acquire the signals and perform a complete analysis of any 12-lead ECG. The basis of that analysis is Marquette's 12SL software program.

Continually fine-tuned by 28 of the world's leading electro-cardiographers, the 12SL program carries out analysis based on age specific criteria, and accurately analyzes patients from newborns to adults.

With Marquette's 12SL clini-cally correlated normal database, 99% specificity has been proven for patients with a reported finding of "Normal sinus rhythm. Normal ECG." Essentially, this means you can have the highest confidence in the interpretations for this patient population-and that means greater throughput for the cardiologist.

This program processes nearly one of four ECGs taken in the U.S. today. Through this experience, it has proven its validity to thousands of cardiologists worldwide.

Communication with the MAC 6

The MAC 6's optional modem permits communication via standard telephone lines with Marquette electrocardiographic equipment around the world. For example, the MAC 6 enables you to send a patient's ECG, both interpretation and waveforms, to another electrocardiograph for overreading or consultation, and then to receive the confirmed or edited ECG report. With the modem, the MAC 6 can communicate with the MAC VU, MAC 15, MAC PC, MAC PC Cellular and MAC II as well as other MAC 6 electrocardiographs. This communication capability opens up avenues for practice-enhancing consultation not available with other electrocardiographs.

The MAC 6 can transmit ECGs to (and receive them from) a central MUSE ECG management system for overreading or storage. Communication with a MUSE system gives you access to Marquette's Serial Comparison Program, which automatically analyzes changes in a patient's ECGs over time.

Even if you have no present need to transmit or receive ECG information, the modem can be added at any time in the future. You can be assured that the future potential of the growing Marquette ECG network is yours with the MAC 6.

Configurations

Basic Cart

Includes a compartmentalized tray in the bottom. This option provides an economical cart that is lightweight, and it is as traditionally reliable as what you've come to expect from Marquette.

Without Cart

For use as a table or desk top unit.

Deluxe Cart

Includes a storage drawer at the top, a swing-open cabinet in the bottom, a front basket with liner and a power cord mount at the rear.

Another choice-

Analog or Serial RS232 Output

An additional optional feature of the MAC 6, the analog/RS232 port, gives you even wider options for using MAC information.

The analog port offers the ability to continuously output up to three leads of ECG waveforms for viewing on a remote display. There's also the option to print out specified sections of these leads, or recall 12-lead samples, all at the touch of a button.

The RS232 port equips the MAC 6 to interface with another MAC 6 with this option or the MAC 15 electrocardiograph.

Training

We provide initial on-site training. On-going support via Marquette's 1-800 Toll-free access is always available. Each MAC 6 comes with our total commitment to helping you take advantage of the instrument's many capabilities.

Service

The MAC 6's modular design simplifies service if it should ever be required. During the first year, all service and parts are covered by our exclusive warranty, including on-site service calls when necessary. A variety of service contract options are available for your consideration at the end of the warranty period.

Supplies
