MRL Diagnostics' Epstein-Barr Virus Viral Capsid Antigens (EBV VCA) IgM Recombinant Immunofluorescent Assay (RIFA™) is intended as an aid in the clinical diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis. This product uses recombinant technology which permits the precise qualitative detection and semi-quantitation of human serum IgM antibodies to EBV VCA; and, since the recombinant cell expresses only VCA, the EBV VCA RIFA™ IgM assay detects a specific antibody response to VCA and does not cross react with EBV EA.

Each kit contains ten 12-well slides prepared with recombinant antigen as substrate, FITC IgM conjugate, positive and negative controls and IgM Pretreatment Diluent.
