The LIFECAP handheld capnograph is designed for continuous
measurement of end tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2), inspired CO2 (FiCO2) and respiratory rate
on both intubated and non-intubated patients. Incorporating the innovative Microstream
technology, this full-featured device minimizes moisture handling and occlusion problems
associated with mainstream and sidestream EtCO2 monitoring technologies. The patented
Microstream technology incorporates a highly sensitive IR emitter that generates only CO2
specific radiation. This specificity to CO2 in the exhaled breath allows the use of a very
small sample cell (15ml) and a flow rate of just 50ml/min. The result is accurate EtCO2
readings and crisp waveforms, even at high respiration rates with low tidal volumes, as is
the case with neonates.
When used with the appropriate Microstream FilterLine circuit, this low flow rate
reduces moisture and occlusion problems, while allowing monitoring of all patients,
neonates to adults, in even the most challenging of clinical settings.
Compact and rugged, the LIFECAP capnograph weighs less than two pounds, making it the
ideal monitor for use in all clinical applications where portability is required,
including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Transport. Yet, by providing digital
display of EtCO2 and respiration rate, a sharp waveform, audible and visual alarms, AC or
battery operation and data transfer to a printer or PC, the LIFECAP capnograph offers an
affordable alternative to larger, more expensive bedside capnographs.
Combined with the complete line of Microstream FilterLine circuits and airway adapters,
the LIFECAP capnograph provides an easy to use, cost effective and versatile solution for
all your EtCO2 monitoring needs.
