Elegra ultrasound system. *

Axius™ Automated OB Calipers helps sonographers estimate fetal measurements by
instantly and automatically outlining fetal anatomy and generating suggested biometry
measurements. Clinicians simply direct system cursors to organ boundaries and the system
outlines the anatomy to obtain many common fetal measurements, including:
- Femur length (FL);
- Head circumference (HC);
- Bi-parietal diameter (BPD);
- Occipital-frontal diameter (OFD); and
- Abdominal circumference (AC).

Based on knowledge-based image processing technology, Axius Automated OB Calipers reduces
the number of steps necessary to produce fetal measurements, for more accurate and
reproducible data. Interpreted measurements -- such as gestation age (GA) and estimated
fetal weight (EFW) -- are instantly calculated, and can be transferred directly to OB
report forms. The automated system makes it easier for health care providers to maintain
accurate exam results.
Because the entire calculation process is accomplished in less than two seconds, early
studies show Axius Calipers may also decrease the time it takes to make certain OB
measurements.This automatic feature, based upon artificial intelligence design
strategies, is made possible by Siemens Ultrasound's powerful supercomputer, the
Crescendo™ MultiDimensional Image Processor. |
