Multi-D Array Transducer
Siemens introduces its first Multi-D™ Array transducer, the VFX13-5, designed to improve both contrast and spatial resolution in nearly every ultrasound scanning situation.

The Multi-D Array VFX13-5 transducer for the SONOLINE® Elegra offers more precise definition of anatomical structures, making it an excellent transducer for high frequency imaging of:
  • superficial breast lesions;
  • thyroid & testicle;
  • musculoskeletal structures;
  • peripheral vasculature; and
  • all superficial structures.

The transducer is operable in 2D, color, power and Doppler modes, and its streamlined design makes it easy to hold and easy to use in a wide variety of anatomical settings.

Siemens' Multi-D Array technology is based on a multidimensional array using multiple rows of acoustic elements, which give the transducer greater control of the elevation slice thickness of the ultrasound beam. This allows the transducer to collect thinner image slices, thereby reducing partial volume effect and providing more precise depiction of anatomical structures.
